Today we enjoyed the wonderful views of the Gorge and the many waterfalls. Horsetail falls and Mulnomah falls were our favorites. After the scenic route past all the waterfalls, we drove to Larch Mountain. This is the highest point in the area where you can watch the 5 largest mountains in the area: Mt Reineer, Mt Adams, Mt Hood, St Helens and Mt Jefferson. The short hike from the parking to the viewing point was definitely worth it! An amazing view of the mountains and the entire area was our reward.
We had lunch here and decided to drive to Porland and check into our hotel a bit early.
That’s exactly what we did. Across the street from the hotel, on the waterfront, as a big 2-day event called Riverfest: a huge christian festival. We walked around a bit and walked into town for a beer (Reineer Beer !). After dinner we walked around in the city center, where there was a big Italian festival: this city loves festivals and loves to party.
