By now it was getting late, so we decided to find a hotel near Crescent Lake. Once we got there: no vacancies. In fact, they told us there were no vacancies in the area and we’d better head back to Port Angeles. We didn’t do that. Instead we decided to continue in the direction of our journey. Next stop: Forks. The good thing about Forks: we saw Elks ! The bad thing: well, the rest. A small town, with a few motels and some run-down restaurants. We drove through town 2 times and it seemed there were no vacancies here either. But we were lucky: we got the last room in town! In the Mill Creek Inn. A tiny room with two single beds. But we didn’t have to continue driving.
We decided to go to the one place Lonely Planet advised. I don’t know what drugs this Lonely Planet author was on, but the restaurant sucked bit time. Karin’s soup was cold, the fettucini I had was horrible, the service was very poor. An experience to forget. But I have to say: it does fit the the town of Forks, pop 3175.
