We slept in a bit today. We had breakfast at the hotel and continued our journey, from Coos Bay to our destination California. We drove along the beautiful coast of South Oregon. Too many amazing viewpoints: we had to stop too often!
We stopped at the Game Park, a petting zoo, where we fed deer, goats, mules. We also petted a baby black panther and watched some other babies, such as a baby lion! The zoo itself was small and cheesy, but we admit it: walking between animals, and feeding them is fun!

We had lunch at a picnic place, where we enjoyed our sandwiches, and eventually entered California. We passed through some ugly towns and ended up in Crescent City. Awful town, where we got a room in the best place of town, the Hampton Inn. Again a room with a gorgeous view on the ocean. Funny: when we asked for a room, we said the rooms were too expensive. The girl at the reception desk then asked “well, what do you want to pay?”. We named a real low price and she agreed! They were not nearly as full as they were supposed to be. So they figured they rather sell a room for a somewhat lower price, instead of not selling it at all. Begging and negotiating does help !
