Finally. After months of planning, reading, booking and, well, just looking forward to it, the day arrived. Holiday! Our flight was scheduled to depart at 13:55, so we didn’t have to get up early. Ahhh… relaxed. A good start!
And it all went smoothly. After a quick lunch at Schiphol Airport we bought some magazines for the flight and we were ready to go. The flight itself departed on time and was a relaxed flight, even tough it was a 10 hour flight. At Houston we had barely enough time to go through customs, pick up our luggage, drop it off again and walk to the gate for our flight to Seattle. But again: no problems. Just a 1 hour delay while we were already boarded. Oh well, if that’s all.
Again, a good flight and at 22:30 we arrived in Seattle. Why, you may ask, did you fly from Amsterdam to Seattle via Houston? Good question! The answer is simple: free tickets. We booked the tickets with frequent flyer miles, and the only way to get to Seattle during this weekend was through Houston.
Anyway, in Seattle we picked up our Rental Car (a Toyota Camry), and we drove to our Hotel (the Sheraton Seattle). After a long day of traveling we were exhausted. So once we got to our room, it didn’t take long to get to bed!
