The last day of the year. So what do you do? How about more skiing and partying? Sounded like a good plan to us, so that’s what we did.
We got up a bit later then yesterday which resulted in parking problems at the mountain. After searching and help from a friendly parking guy we found a good parking spot and we enjoyed another day of great skiing. There was on downside: it has become really cold! We’re talking -12C/10F… and that is without the wind chill factor. It was cold. But the snow was great and the skiing was fun.
We stopped a bit earlier today and headed for the Rusty Nail to warm up and have an early dinner. We briefly talked to Mike and Rob and I guess they were a bit nervous about theparty later that evening 🙂
After dinner we went to the hotel to relax, shower, take a nap, etc.
I organized a taxi that picked us up at 20:30: let the party begin.
When we got to the Rusty Nail, there were some Dutch people complaining they had to pay to get in. And that it was too expensive. Jeez…. typical Dutch.
The party started a bit slow, but to summarize: it was a great party. Nice band (Last Kid Picked), fun DJ, great crowd, etc.
It is so different from Holland: people are more enthusiastic, so there was a lot of dancing, drinking and people having a great time. At midnight there was the traditional countdown and …. welcome 2009! We did miss the champagne somehow… But there was enough booze 🙂
After midnight they served breakfast! Very funny, but also on time: I was getting really drunk, so some food helped.
All in all it was a great party. We were almost the last ones to leave and we felt sorry this was the last time we could visit the Rusty Nail (they are closed tomorrow).
